In a dramatic turn of events, an apparent Trump assassination attempt was thwarted at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where shots were fired while former President Donald Trump was on the golf course. The incident occurred just two months after a similar Trump assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, while Trump was playing a round of golf, a Secret Service agent spotted a gunman hiding in the bushes approximately 300-500 yards away. The agent quickly identified a rifle barrel protruding from the bushes and immediately took action. As law enforcement opened fire, the gunman abandoned his weapon—a scoped AK-47-style rifle—and fled the scene in a vehicle. 

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, the suspect also left behind two backpacks containing ceramic tiles and a GoPro camera. Authorities soon apprehended the suspect on a nearby highway. The Martin County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the man was taken into custody without resistance. Although the suspect was unarmed at the time of arrest, he was reportedly calm and unemotional.


Response from Trump

Following the incident, Trump assured his supporters of his safety. In an email, he wrote, "I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!" After returning to his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump was said to be in "good spirits" despite the apparent,Trump assassination attempt. He even joked with friends that he wished he could have finished his golf game.


In a later statement on Truth Social, Trump expressed gratitude to the U.S. Secret Service, law enforcement, and Sheriff Ric Bradshaw for their swift response in ensuring his safety during the event. Political Reactions
